Greta began her law enforcement career in 1994 with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, where she was assigned to the Isothermal Narcotics Task Force. After years of working drug cases in western North Carolina, she transitioned to the Civil Division. She completed her career at Rutherford County S.O. in 2015 as a sergeant assigned to the Courthouse in Rutherford County.

Greta first joined the NC FOP in 1998 when she joined Rutherford County FOP Lodge #36. She served as the President of Lodge #36 for several years before she moved her membership to Cleveland County Lodge #18 where she currently serves as their State Lodge Trustee.

Greta has served on several committees for NC FOP including the very first Labor Committee started under past State President Don Penix in 2001. She has served on the Awards Committee for many years and is the current Chairperson. She has also served on the Credentialing Committee at several State Conferences. She has attended every State Conference since 2000 and every National Conference since 1999.

Greta's service with the National FOP is also impressive. She has served with the National FOP Memorial Committee since 2001. The National Memorial Committee is responsible for the service held each year on May 15th in Washington D.C. on the West Front Lawn of the United States Capitol and recognizes every law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty the previous year. The Memorial Committee consists of twelve FOP members from across the country who work extremely hard all year to make sure the event is safe, secure, and well-organized for the families of the officers being recognized and by the thousands of law enforcement officers who attend. The National Memorial Committee is divided into five sub-committees where Greta Chairs the Credentialing. Her committee is responsible for ensuring the safety and accountability of all those attending, and volunteering at the annual National Peace Officers Memorial Service.
