Jason Gardner has been a dedicated member of the Fraternal Order of Police since 2008, building a record of service and leadership at the local, state, and national levels. Since 2010, he has served Old Charleston Lodge #70 as both President and State Trustee, working to strengthen the lodge and advance the interests of FOP members.

At the state level, Jason has served on the North Carolina Fraternal Order of Police Membership and Recruitment Committee and as Chairman of the Travel and Accommodations Committee. He has also served as Vice President of the North Carolina FOP Foundation, supporting its mission of assisting law enforcement officers, their families, and communities across the state.

Jason's commitment to the Fraternal Order of Police extends to the national level. For the past three years, he has assisted with credentialing for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial observances in Washington, D.C., helping support one of the FOP's most solemn responsibilities—honoring America's fallen law enforcement officers and their families.

Jason retired from the Swain County Sheriff's Office in 2025 after serving as Chief Deputy. Continuing his law enforcement career, he currently serves as a Sergeant Detective with the Cherokee Indian Police Department, bringing extensive leadership, investigative, and supervisory experience to his role.

On August 12, 2026, Jason was elected 2nd Vice President of the North Carolina Fraternal Order of Police. In this position, he is committed to growing FOP membership, strengthening and supporting local lodges, mentoring the next generation of FOP leaders, and ensuring the voices of North Carolina's law enforcement officers are heard in both Raleigh and Washington, D.C.

Jason's service reflects a continued commitment to the principles of Fraternity, Advocacy, Leadership, and Service that define the Fraternal Order of Police.
