Kelli Jones began her law enforcement career in 1993 with the North Carolina Department of Correction, serving as a Correctional Officer at two institutions before becoming a Probation/Parole Officer in Pasquotank County in 1995. During her career, she advanced through the ranks and was promoted to Chief Probation/Parole Officer for Pasquotank and Perquimans counties. After 30 years of dedicated service to the State of North Carolina, Kelli retired in 2023. In recognition of her distinguished career and service to the citizens of North Carolina, she was awarded the Order of the Long Leaf Pine by Governor Roy Cooper.

Kelli's service to the Fraternal Order of Police has spanned two decades. In 2006, she was elected State Trustee for River City Lodge #76 and has held numerous leadership positions within the Lodge, including Secretary and Vice President. She has also served the North Carolina State Lodge on several important committees, including the Legal Aid Committee and the Conference Elections Committee.

In 2024, after 20 years of service on the NCFOP Board of Directors, Kelli was elected State Treasurer of the North Carolina Fraternal Order of Police, where she continues to play an important role in the leadership and financial stewardship of the organization.

Following the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, State President Chet Effler appointed Kelli in 2025 to the NCFOP Disaster Response Committee, supporting the organization's Feeding Heroes initiative and its efforts to strengthen the FOP's ability to respond to disasters and assist law enforcement officers, their families, and affected communities.

Kelli's service has also extended to the National Fraternal Order of Police. In 2025, she was appointed to serve on the National FOP Resolutions Committee, which reviewed and considered resolutions before reporting its work to the delegates at the 2025 National FOP Conference in Miami.

In 2026, Kelli was appointed Chair of the NCFOP Foundation Development and Review Committee, where she is helping guide the continued development, review, and future direction of the North Carolina Fraternal Order of Police Foundation.

Throughout her FOP service, Kelli has demonstrated a strong commitment to the members of the Order and the law enforcement profession. From her local lodge and State Lodge leadership to her committee service at both the state and national levels, she continues to bring decades of experience, dedication, and service to the Fraternal Order of Police.
